Hello! My name's Ángeles Ruiz.

I was born in Barcelona, Spain, on a cold winter night.

When I was a child, reading was my favorite subject at school.

That was where my passion for creating magical stories and picture books started. My mom was an artist who painted landscapes on canvas. I dearly remember playing and painting in her mom’s studio surrounded by paintbrushes and paint tubes.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and an associate degree in interior design. I paint with both traditional and digital brushes using textures and colors  to evoke magical environments and emotions. I have illustrated several books for children. Valentina and Monster is the first children’s book I wrote and illustrated. I live with my husband, my little daughter, and a grey and whitecat named Gus in a red brick house in front of the forest near the Mediterranean Sea.

If you have any questions or collaborations I would love to hear from you. You can contact me at:
